DANDELION SEED Research Library

The DANDELION project is pleased to announce the launch of its brand-new SEED Research Library http://library.dandelion-europe.eu/library_home.php

The innovative online platform gives Socio-economic Sciences and Humanities (SSH) projects the opportunity to communicate their research findings directly with industry, the media, the general public and political stakeholders in attractive multi-media digital brochures known as SEEDs, which are categorised in six thematic areas.

The SEED Library is an interactive platform where projects are shown in context alongside others in from a similar area. The platform allows researchers to communicate directly with their audiences and build valuable networks of stakeholders who they know have an interest in their work. Meanwhile, library visitors are automatically alerted about new developments in the projects they choose to follow.

It encourages pro-active and dynamic dialogue between people who can help to foster further SSH research and innovation, encourage collaboration among projects and ensures project results make an impact in terms of policy and with the general public.

The DANDELION SEED library is fully operational and growing. There are currently 18 projects already involved with several SEEDs in production, and the library is showing continued interest from other projects looking to join. In total there are 150 members, and this is beginning to grow. The latest EU-funded projects to join are:

EUth: Encourages the younger electorate to participate in politics by creating web-based and mobile apps that easily allow them to give their opinion on political matters and processes.

EUth project

ENLARGE: Focuses on sustainable energy through the dissemination of knowledge for the purpose of policy makers and civil society actors to move towards a greener EU society.

Alongside the development of the library, a complete guide is now available providing an introduction to DANDELION SEED research library. The guide is available to anyone interested in finding out more about this service by providing an easy-to-digest overview on what the library is; who uses it; the benefits of the library for members, visitors and projects, as well as the long-term vision of the library.

A handy step-by-step guide on how to build and publish a SEED is also available online.

In other news, there is an exciting announcement on the horizon with an innovative short animated video in the final stages of production. The video will provide a short introduction to the SEED library by taking the viewer on a visual journey through the website, focusing on many features of SEED such as the events calendar, how videos will appear and how social media can be integrated. Keep your eyes peeled!
